In addition to EPROM functionality, these devices also support electrical erase operation via an external programmer. To meet surface mount and conventional through hole.

However, I could hold off on buying the stuff if I knew I needed a chip adapter, the newer style chips and a burner for the chips. Plus, plcc is a pretty common package. Has anyone tried this? So there’s no Eeprom’s?????

If it works out maybe we can get someone to make up little boards that will accept the eeprom on top and will solder into the ecu and do the cross-connect. OE is the output control and is. Just noticed on Mouser’s site our 27sf chips are now obsolete!

It’s a pin chip.

I just ordered 6 chips, hella glad I did I thought all 27c chips are OTP though??? Previous 1 2 Is that company in China still making AA bodies?

Plus the plcc chips are cheaper, and we all know that’s the driving force in anything TD related. These devices conform to. PLCC is a type of ‘package’ for a chip. Same here, last batch I got several months ago after just a couple uses they wouldn’t erase for me.

OK, after looking at some datasheets I may have found an answer. There prices are great and they have most of the chips our cars use.

Just checking to see if they would be of any use. Won’t fit our boards. At least Cycles. SST used to do it, you could get a 27sf in a 28 pin dip or a 32 pin plcc. For details, see Table 3 for hardware operation. Probably still need an interposer to get the pinout right. datssheet

In fact the person that answered said in light of the fact they are now obsolete they have even more ordered for stock. Cordes and I were talking about this a couple of weeks ago, but I don’t remember the exact details of the conversation or who he may have been referring to. DIP chips are rectangular and have 2 rows of pins coming off of their longer sides, and are the older style of chip that gets solderd through the board. Designed, manufactured, and tested for a wide.

This mode may be accessed bydevice outputs by toggling address line Ao.

Looks like you can still get the 27c Plus, I’m sure that the plcc chips will be around for a while and there’s still many manufacturers. The dtaasheet bus is in high impedance state when either CE or OE is high. So there are plenty for now.

I saw you mentioned above surface mount for the other chips we were using, but I couldn’t find any of them. I dstasheet it was my burner so I pulled the chip I got from you and I tried to erase and program that one. WTF, I thought these chips were super popular.

I had about 5 that would not erase. Both CE and OE have to be low for the system to obtain data from the outputs. It’s just that the 27sf aren’t being made new any more, so we’re going to need options for new chips at some point. All the plcc dip adapters I saw wouldn’t route the signals properly for most of the easily available chips. See Figures 1, 2, and 3 for. I don’t think leaving pin 27 on the eeprom disconnected will hurt it, since it’s the write enable pin.

The data bus is in. Pin 27 is write enable on the at28c chipsso it doesn’t even need to be connected to the standard ECU since it shouldn’t ever have a signal on it Rob’s in car flashable utils are a whole different ball game.

But I guess if you’re already using them, that means the ecu won’t have a problem reading from them as long as that 1 address line is put in the right place. If I’m correct about the package they won’t work for the 2 adapters I had made up or quantum’s new adapter I believe. Right but aren’t those once and done chips? I’m guessing the pre pentium generation of chips is being phased out.
